The Cool Flex Collection from Carolina Mattress Guild was introduced in July 2013. Consisting of three models, The.Plush, Luxury.Plush, and Ultra.Plush, this mattress line features natural latex with Semi-Solid Poured Cool Breeze Gel. This is produced by pouring liguid gel into depressions on the surface of the latex foam, which becomes semi-solid while setting. This process brings the heat removing characteristics of the gel closer to the sleeper.
Another headline feature of the Carolina Mattress Guild Cool Flex mattresses is the covers. They are made of AirVent, a polyester viscose fabric which has been fabricated to have thousands of vents, allowing air to freely flow through, to significantly enhance ventilation and cooling. On the Carolina Mattress Guild website is a video demonstration of how this works.
The three Cool Flex models seem at first glance to be alike, but there are differences. The.Plush has a layer of CMG's ComforLatex, a blend of natural and synthetic latex. The Luxury.Plush has a second layer of natural latex, which is convoluted, above a layer of ComforLatex. And the Ultra.Plush has the convoluted natural latex plus another layer of natural latex, but the description does not name ComforLatex. The firmness level of the first model is rated as Plush, and the other two are Extra Plush.
All three models of the Carolina Mattress Guild Cool Flex Collection have support cores of soy foam. Beneath the support core is a base layer of soy foam to absorb shock.
Since this review covers three models, the average firmness level in the table below is selected.
