The Talverna Plush mattress is in the Sealy Posturepedic Gel Series, which features OptiCool™, a gel memory foam engineered to keep the sleeper's body temperature on an even keel. This is on top of Sealy's individually pocketed Titanium DSx™ Coils, which are designed to adapt the support to the shape and weight of the sleepers' bodies.
The OptiCool™ gel memory foam works with Outlast® fabric. It is claimed that together the OptiCool and Outlast are twelve times more effective than ordinary memory foams in carrying excess heat away from the sleeping surface. The OptiCool is memory foam which has been infused with microencapsulated beads of gel which serve as a heat sink, absorbing the user's body heat and transferring it to other beads, eventually conducting it out of the mattress.
The Outlast fabric on the sleeping surface of the Sealy Posturepedic Talverna Plush mattress is derived from material first developed for NASA to control the temperatures of astronauts' space suits, and then adapted for use for athletes. The cross-section of the fibers draws away moisture while allowing air to circulate the fabric. This combination of wicking and breathability keeps the user both dry and cool. The Outlast is fused with the top 1" of OptiCool.
Beneath this inch of Outlast and OptiCool is a 41/2" of comfort layers of Sealy's foams, balanced to both cradle and support the users.
The foam encasement around the Sealy Posturepedic Talverna Plush is called the SitRight™ Edge System, because the mattress is weight-bearing clear out to the edge, making it suitable for sitting without sagging and slipping off. This edge support also prolongs the life of the mattress by inhibiting the breakdown of the foams and by holding the independent coils together.
The middle third of the length of the Sealy Posturepedic Talverna Plush mattress features the CoreSupport™ Center, a firmer foam core to provide more support to the heaviest portion of the sleeper's body. This enables the mattress to resist lasting impressions of the users' bodies.
There are periodic tasks to using a mattress and a bed: changing sheets, cleaning, rotating the mattress, moving the bed, etc. Sealy has equipped the Posturepedic Talverna Plush with the LiftRight™ Corner Handles to make these tasks easier.
Are you tired of sheets always slipping out of place? Sealy's answer to this is a rubberized fabric on the Sealy StayTight™ Foundation to grip the sheets and keep them in place. Another feature of the Talverna Plush is the use of FlameGuard™ Rayon Fiber to make the mattress fire resistant, meeting U.S. federal bedding flammability standards.
The Sealy Posturepedic Talverna Plush is moderately priced, making it widely affordable.
