The newest collection of Beautyrest mattresses is the Platinum Collection. The twelve models in this collection are, on the average, higher than those in the Recharge Collection, ranging from 13" to 16" in height. Like the Recharge Collection, the Platinum Collection has two groups, hybrids and non-hybrids. Four of the mattresses are hybrids. They range in firmness from extra firm to ultra plush. This collection may be a replacement for the World Class models, which are no longer listed by Beautyrest.
The sections of mattresses in the Platinum Collection are classified into three layers.
On the bottom is the Support Layer. This is essentially the same for all of the models, with 1,000 wrapped pocket coils, the AirCool BeautyEdge ventilated foam encasement, and a sheet of Energy Foam (a support transition material).
The middle section is the Contour Layer. Hybrid and non-hybrid groups differ in this area. Beautyrest leaves this area blank for Hybrid mattresses, but defines it for the non-hybrids. Non-hybrid Platinum models have variety in this section. The extra firm Amberlyn has Energy Foam with AirCool Memory Foam in the middle third. The rest have AirCool® Gel Memory Foam and AirCool® MAX™ Memory Foam. The two Katherine models add a sheet of Comfort Foam at the bottom.
The top section of a Platinum Collection mattress is the Comfort Layer. The composition of this section also divides hybrid and non-hybrid members of the collection. One thing all model descriptions agree on is that this section functions in Temperature Management.
Platinum Hybrid mattresses have Comfort Response Latex at the bottom of the section and PlatinumICE Memory Foam at the top. Two of them have ContourFit Gel Memory Foam and Dynamic Response Memory Foam in the center. One has AirCool® Memory Foam HD and AirCool® Memory Foam, and the fourth has Dynamic Response and the AirCool MF.
PlatinumICE Memory Foam is not new to Beautyrest. It has been used in previous models for cooling at the top of the mattress, just under the cover itself.
The non-hybrid Platinum Collection mattresses rely on SurfaceCool Plus Fiber to cool the top of the mattress. This is layer of fibers which are engineered to disspate heat to keep the top of the mattress cool.
It is what is below the SurfaceCool Plus Fiber which distinguishes goups of models from each other. Amberlyn has a layer of luxury firm comfort foam. The two Katherine models and the two Gabriella models have comfort foam, while the three Brittany mattresses have GelTouch Foam.
The cover fabric itself is not described by Beautyrest, but following the example of other Beautyrest mattresses makes it probably a stretch knit.
The default foundation for Beautyrest Platinum Collection models is the Triton base, an upholstered wood slatted platform. Beautyrest does suggest using these mattresses on its new SmartMotion adjustable base.
As with all Beautyrest mattresses, those in the Platinum Collection are covered by a 10-year non-prorated warranty.
